  • Key responsibilities:

    · Manage, analyze and settle claims for and from clients in accordance with the conditions agreed by the parties in the Marine & Liability insurance policies.

    · Investigate the circumstances of the claims and formulate proposals for a solution, negotiate with insureds and brokers in the claims management

    · Permanent communication with the underwriting department to proactively monitor the results of insurance policies requiring a close review

    · Introduce recoveries against third parties

    · Participate in technical workgroups

    Profile:

    · Bachelor’s degree or Master degree in finance & insurance, logistics, foreign trade, law (or any equivalent through experience)

    · You have preferably already a working experience, ideally related to logistics, claims management (or any equivalent)

    · Mother tongue level in French or Dutch and show very good oral and written language skills in the other language + English.

    · Analytical and critical mind and capable of summarizing information

    · Good communication skills and an assertive attitude in finding solutions

    · Team player

  • Vous ferez partie d’une équipe dynamique de 6 personnes et vos principales tâches seront :

    • Saisir et vérifier des bordereaux de primes de nos courtiers .
    • Faciliter le flux d’informations entre les différents départements (souscription, sinistres et comptabilité) .
    • Préparer et maintenir à jour le programme de gestion des affaires.
    • Soutenir les équipes de souscription Marine dans la gestion administrative du portefeuille (signature de documents, reporting, etc.).
    • Participer à l’amélioration des procédures.

    Nos attentes :

    • Vous avez au moins un diplôme de l’enseignement supérieur ou une expérience probante dans une fonction similaire.
    • Vous êtes de langue néerlandaise ou française avec une excellente connaissance de la deuxième langue (écrite et parlée), l’anglais courant est un atout.
    • Vous pouvez travailler aussi bien en équipe qu’en autonomie et vous avez le souci du détail.
    • Vous faites preuve d’initiative, d’organisation et de structure dans votre travail.
    • Vous maîtrisez les connaissances informatiques de base, telles que le progiciel MS-office.

  • Role / Experience

    We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated (Junior) Underwriting Officer to assist our Art & Patrimony underwriting team in delivering a high quality service, with some experience within the financial area, preferably insurance. A legal scolarship, law bachelor or bachelor in economics are required.

    You will be in close cooperation with the underwriters, assisting with everyday underwriting matters and providing support for administrative aspects.

    Key responsibilities

    • Managing business in a cost-effective manner and in accordance with the individual underwriting authority level;
    • Assist in underwriting new business according to the “guidelines” set out by our Insurance Companies;
    • Assessing and evaluating Art & Patrimony insurance risks, measuring risk exposure and premium quotations;
    • Preparing underwriting matters for existing accounts, editing endorsements and registering contracts and data;
    • Controlling and issuing various types of Insurance documents;
    • Handling day-to-day policy issues;
    • Following up premium settlements in order to maintain an accurate management of the portfolio;
    • Liaising and building up strong relationships with brokers and other network professionals;
    • Knowledge of the brokerage in Belgium is a plus

    Skills

    Language skills – Dutch and French mandatory, English is a plus.
